It's just about that time again for our annual Spa Day! It all started with a birthday party and grew from there. While having the various treatments are most often individual events, the entire spa day is a great way to connect with your girlfriends. Many ladies indulge in this party while celebrating birthdays, promotions, bachelorette parties and other events. Why not have a yearly Spa Day with and for your friends? These events are great planned at home or at one of your local spas - but super great if you do a destination spa weekend!

Planning a DIY project is pretty easy and can be lots of fun. There are many massage therapists and nail techs who will come to your home to do their magic. Just make sure you are using licensed professionals who are able perform their trade on private property.
More tips:
  • Great your guests with fluffy warm robes and slippers.
  • Have spa music floating in every room your guests will be.
  • Cucumber and citrus waters are wonderfully refreshing. Chill water in a beautiful glass pitcher and add cucumbers or oranges to it - DELICIOUS.
  • Green teas are great for winter spa days. Chill it for the warmer months.
  • Serve healthy food - veggies and fruits are always good.....
  • Set up "massage rooms" in different rooms in your home. Depending on space, you can slide your furniture out of the way for the massage tables. Scented candles in eucalyptus are extra relaxing. Spa music is easy to find and most massage therapists have their own. Use spa music in your rooms.

Here is a healthy spa recipe for your DIY Spa Day from Spa Index:

Turkey Wraps

Serving Size: 4 wraps

12 ounces turkey breast thinly sliced

2 cups cabbage, julienned

1 large green apple, julienned

1 large carrot, julienned

1/8 cup canola oil

3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon honey

4 tortillas

Whisk oil, vinegar and honey together and season with salt and pepper. Pour the dressing over the vegetables and apple and toss to mix well. Place 1/4 of the sliced turkey and 1/4 of the vegetable/apple mixture on each tortilla and wrap.

Enjoy! Next up - Spa Day at your local spa......
